Raspberry Limeade

Quick question - Are you sick of my drink recipes? Do you visit my page and suddenly you really, really need to pee?

Ingredients

For the raspberry simple syrup

  • 6 oz about 1 1/2 cups raspberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Splash of vanilla extract

For the limeade

  • Raspberry simple syrup
  • 6 oz about 1 1/2 cups raspberries
  • 6-8 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice About 6-8 limes
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup of sugar or to taste optional
  • Ice
  • Seltzer water
  • Vodka Optional

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan combine raspberries, sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium/high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sugar has dissolved and the raspberries have softened, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and add a splash of vanilla extract.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of raspberries to the syrup and puree either using an immersion blender or a regular blender until smooth. Strain the mixture to remove the raspberry seeds. Discard the seeds. You should now have a nice, sweet raspberry puree.
  • To a half gallon mason jar, or a large glass container - Add the raspberry puree, freshly squeezed lime juice, and cold water. Seal the mason jar and shake until fully combined. If you're using an open container, stir that jammy - Don't shake. Otherwise it will end up on that pretty summer tank top.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness as desired.
  • Add ice to an 8 oz glass. Add limeade till the glass is filled halfway, then top with seltzer. Or vodka. Or both. Whatever floats your boat.
