Chocolate Peanut Butter Butter Banana Bites

Get healthy! Well… Kind of with these snack-a-licious Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Banana Slices!

Hi… I made you a snack… It’s a good snack. It’s got potassium, protein, chocolate.

It’s not one of those protein bars body builders use to bulk up.

You’re not a body builder!

Are you?

Don’t beat me up, please…

Here’s the thing… I don’t actually have a recipe.

Why?

Because this snack is so simple, no recipe is really needed.

No, really – I’m serious!

This snack starts with bananas. Go grab some. As many as you want. This is YOUR snack. Do this your way…

The bananas should be semi-ripe, but not too ripe. Overripe bananas will not work for this.

Use your overripe bananas to make banana bread snickerdoodles.

Sorry, shamless plug.

Slice your bananas in half. Please peel them first.

Cut a small slit on each banana with a small pairing knife.

Then, um… Eat that piece.

Get that potassium in.

You’re going to need peanut butter. As much or as little as you like. We’re snacking, here!

Fill the open slit of your bananas with peanut butter and smooth as best you can.

If desired, slice the bananas into smaller rounds. Don’t make them too thin, though… Place the bananas in the fridge for about 30 minutes or so. It will make the next step easier.

Now melt some chocolate, about a cup or so depending on how many bananas you are planning to snack on.

Now dip those jammies into the chocolate!

Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment while you dip more bananas. Once all bananas have been dipped, place in the refrigerator or freezer. This will allow the chocolate to set. You want this snack ready as soon as possible. Trust.

Off topic: My daughter calls it the “Re-freezer”. It’s so cute I don’t correct her; instead I ask her to repeat it. Often.

I must warn you, they don’t look so pretty when you cut them open. The bananas brown a bit from all that manhandling.

See?

BUT!

We’re snackin’… Who cares what these bananas look like!

They taste…

They taste…

Well, I don’t think I need to explain what bananas and peanut butter enrobed in chocolate taste like. You’ll just need to experience it…

Mmm-Hmm…
