Nutella S’mores Dip

Nutella S'mores Dip {mind-over-batter.com}

Sundays are a lazy situation. Laaaazzzzyyy. So lazy I am tempted to stop talking mid-sentence and let you guys just muddle through this post.

I won’t, ’cause I have some explaining to do.

You see, what had happened was…

My son went away to camp. For the first time. For 2 whole weeks. He didn’t write. And I missed him terribly. You see, he’s my first born. I’m sort of attached to him. He’s a teenager, which also means I don’t like him sometimes. Teenagers suck. They’re always mad. Or bored. Or mad. There’s this perpetual expression of disgust on their faces. And now my son is one of them.

I don’t have much of a choice. I have to ride this out. Because I love him.

But Real Talk? Sometimes I want to run away and come back when he’s 20.

Anyway, he went away – He didn’t write – And I missed him terribly. Now he’s back and I’ve been hugging that lil’ mofo every chance I get. We’ve been talking about camp and last night I asked him if he had his fill of s’mores.

He tells me – He had no s’mores. Not once. Whaaaa?! What kind of camp is this anyway?! No s’mores? Are you kidding me?

So I told my boy I would make him s’mores. To score those brownie points and soften that perpetual teenage scowl.

But Sunday, yo…

I’m feeling hella lazy.

So I asked around.  I mean, do I HAVE to make individual s’mores? Can I just turn this into a dip situation where I can melt everything in the oven and my boy can just have at it with some graham crackers?

Are you feeling me?

Turns out, you can make s’mores dip. Why the hell not? All it takes is some chocolate chips, marshmallows, and like, 6 minutes in the oven.

I took it a step further, ’cause I’d like to think that in a former life I was a very successful drug kingpin. And like a good drug kingpin I want to make and deal the new crack. And the crack of this decade is Nutella. So I went there.

Side Note: I were indeed a drug kingpin in a former life, my name would have been Brown Suga.

Foh sho’.

So chocolate chips, both semi sweet and milk get scattered on a mini skillet situation. A 6 inch skillet or griddle will do, here. Then you dollop spoonfuls of Nutella over the chocolate chips.

Now why am I adding chocolate chips with Nutella and not just Nutella? Glad you asked, homie. Nutella tends to solidify quickly, much quicker than chocolate chips which retain a certain level of viscosity once melted.

And with s’mores we’re looking for that melty chocolate situation.

The Nutella and chocolate chips get topped with marshmallow halves and popped in the oven (or toaster oven) until the marshmallows melt and brown a bit. This takes about 6 minutes of your time.

Lazy situation.

Then you go in with some graham crackers. I don’t need to tell you how good this tastes. No amount of words or photos can do stringy marshmallows and dollops of Nutella justice, so I’ll just let you stare at this jammy right here.

– Let you decide whether you’re lazy enough on a Sunday to let this one go, or whether the idea of the new crack invading your tastebuds is enough to spur you into action.

I already know the answer to this one, homies.
